He came to the gym nearly three months ago with a goal of nailing his first strict muscle up and improving overall core strength/durability.
We spent lots of time on the rings, with both dips, rows, and skill work. His program include loads of carries, crawling, pullups/chinups, and even dumbbell work. Up until two weeks ago, there was very little “cardio.” In the middle of July he hit his first strict muscle up. From then on, each week he was able to increase his volume of successful muscle ups.
Now we are starting to include more gymnastics work into his cardio sessions, transferring all of that strength and skill work done over nearly three months into improved conditioning workouts.
