Elon Musk is one of my favorite entrepreneurs. An audacious dreamer, Musk is a Herculean doer as well. He has revolutionized the space industry, remade the electric car into a sexy machine, and doubled down on solar energy.
Clearly, the man doesn’t think or act small. My takeaway: success occurs because of sacrifice. If you want to be mega successful, there might be areas of your life that you will have to neglect (relationships, family, health, etc). While I find Musk to be inspirational, his tale is cautionary. The road to success is one fraught with heartbreak, betrayal, and loneliness.
For those wishing to do big things, be ready to confront a world that is small minded and judgmental.
